Antique Art Nouveau Victorian Cast Iron Embossing Stamp
Antique Victorian cast iron embosser called “The Pearl”. Manufactured in the late 19th century this stamp was used as an anti forgery device in documents by imprinting a honey comb pattern on to a document.
It may have been used on handwriting (such as a signature or dollar amount), for the purpose of making the writing difficult to alter after being stamped.
Marked: The Pearl
This set would make a great addition to your eclectic Victorian home decor or desk accessory collection.
