DESCRIPTION
Antique British sterling silver trophy capstan inkwell. Manufactured in 1915 and presented as a golfing prize in 1916 this beautiful sterling piece was designed as a practical capstan inkwell. As expected of high end silver makers this piece is marked on the top as well as the main body. This inkwell retains a clear glass reservoir for ink.
The Grange Golf Club is situated at the foot of the Dublin mountains the republic of Ireland. Founded in 1910, the Grange has been acknowledged as being in the top 25 parkland courses in Ireland. This is an early prize awarded from a prestigious and established sports club.

Hallmarked: WA ( makers mark , Anchor (Birmingham city assay mark), Lion Passant (sterling silver mark), q (the date letter for 1915)
