Antique Cast Iron Raadvad Deli Country Store Guillotine Bread Slicer Loaf Cutter

  • $ 13000

DESCRIPTION

Vintage cast iron and wooden Danish Raadvad bread slicer. Dating to the early 1900's this deli country store guillotine style loaf cutter has a sharp steel chamfered blade and still retains some of its original factory finish.

In 1765 Raadvad village was taken over by the Iron Mongers' Guild in Copenhagen. They founded Raadvaddams Fabrikker at the site, producing mostly kitchen equipment. After the First World War, the company changed its name to Raadvads Knivfabrikker and, for a period, it produced exclusively knives and bread-cutters.
