Antique Pair French Art Nouveau Alphonse Mucha Parian Plaques
Antique pair of early 20th century art nouveau parian wall plaques. Made in either France or Austria at the turn of the century this pair of stunning decorative art plaques depict Alphonse Muchas designs for "Morning" and "Evening" (1899). Highly stylized Mucha plaques detail the exotic flowing floral decadence of art nouveau along with the sultry demure of his portrayal of his ladies. Marked on the back with a sunken metal proof slug which is embossed with the image of a seated lady holding a wreath.
This would make a great addition to any wall art or Mucha collection. This would make a great early holiday gift.
