DESCRIPTION

Pair of Limoges Liliane Moreau signed enamel paintings. Art portrait paintings of a boy and a girl in period clothing of the 18th century. The boy is holding a small dog in his hands with his hat brown off in reckless abandon to the ground. The girl is in a typical period pose with orderly presentation and her hands neatly folded. Both pieces are signed on the front and retain their paper labels on the back.

This pieces date from the 1970s when this artist established themselves at 6 boulevard Louis Blanc, Limoges, France. Each piece is entirely handmade and completed according to the tradition of emaux de Limoges.

MEASUREMENTS

Each painting measures 9“ tall by 7.75" wide (insert 4" by 3.5") by 1.25" deep and together weigh 2lb 6oz.

CONDITION

These paintings are in very good condition with some chipping to the frames. The porcelain painting of the boy appears to have a hairline crack in the top center which appears to be from the firing. (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
