DESCRIPTION

Rare Vintage English Mears OL380 conversation tube . Dating to the early 1950's this hearing aid conversation tube was made in Great Britain by the distinguished company of Mears. This piece of medical aid equipment is also referred to as an ear trumpet. It retains the military crows foot which ties with the date of 1952 when rationing was still controlled by the government (until 1954). The tube part is constructed from black woven silk, the horn is cellulose acetate and the removable earpiece screws in place.

This Mears Model OL 380 A conversation tube was made by Mears in the UK and was distributed to people in the UK by Medresco, the British health service from 1949 - 1952.

MEASUREMENTS

Ear trumpet measures 2.5“ mouth diameter by 36.75“ long and weighs 5.6oz.

CONDITION

In good functional condition considering are with some scratching to the resin areas. There is a small chip out of the tube connector (where the cord connects to the ear piece) - please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
