DESCRIPTION

Vintage Bicentennial 3 coin slot Bell system pay telephone. Manufactured by Eastern Electric in 1976 to mark the bicentennial celebrations this metal payphone is decorated in patriotic colors throughout, with patriotic symbols such as the eagle on the center and on the topper. As each coin is deposited it makes a different sound, one ring for a nickel, two for a dime and a dong sound for the quarter. This series of chimes was to enable the operator to decipher how much was deposited when putting a call through the switch board. The locked coin box retains its original key.

MEASUREMENTS

Phone measures 22.75" tall by 6.5" wide by 5.5 deep and weighs 26lb 15oz.

CONDITION

This payphone is in good condition with some small signs of use commensurate with age. The mechanism is not locked so it is serviceable if needed but the key to lock it is nit present. Everything is intact, the dial moves freely, the telephone has been tested and works perfectly (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
