Antique 1910s Primitive Large Heavy Rug Iron
Antique 1910s large heavy industry electric iron. Large two handed vintage electric iron made by the Pacific Electric Heating company out of Ontario, California. The last patent date was registered in September 1906 for this 30 lbs electric sad iron. This is an early electrified iron most likely used either in a launderette or in the fashion industry or perhaps for very heavy material such as curtains. The electrical component indicates that the iron was electrified 1916. This is one of the earliest irons made by the company now known as Hotpoint due to the hottest part of the iron being not the middle but at the point.

Iron measures 14.5" long by 8" wide by 6" tall and weighs 28lb 10oz.

In good condition considering age and use but has not been tested due to a lack of a cord- please see all pictures as they form part of the description. This would most likely be best used as a display item only.
