Antique Art Nouveau Secessionist Signed Pin Tray Dish Tschuvin Cicada Tray
DESCRIPTION
Vintage Art Nouveau pin tray. Signed pin tray depicting a cicada amongst fruit and foliage in high relief and stunning detail. this dates from the turn of the last century (1900) and most likely originates in the Austro Hungarian empire as it has a definite secessionist style about it. The German and Austrian metal worker companies were rivaling the French for ornate casting in the late 1800 to WW1 era with companies like WMF, Kayserzinn and Albert Kohler impacting the overseas consumer market. this is a superb example of yet another small company making exquisite household items into works of art.
