DESCRIPTION

Antique 12" dial English mahogany cased fusee dial clock. Made by Birch & Gaydon at 153 Fenchurch Street, London, this classic working fusee dial clock dates from around 1910. The metal dial is painted a light cream color, has the name and address of the makers as well as roman numerals. Established in the 1860's as high quality chronometer makers Birch and Gaydon moved to the 153 Fenchurch premises in 1905. The accuracy and beauty of their time pieces made them desirable among both the admiralty and exploratory expeditions during the Edwardian period. The winding key and dial are included with this piece which came form a distinguished clock collection in Pasadena, California recently.

Clock measures: 12" dial, 14.75" diameter with frame by 5.25" deep and weighs 11lb 14oz.

In good working condition and good physical condition considering age and use. There are specklings of the white paint on the face missing - (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
