  • $ 55000

Vintage original signed Jack Silverman serigraph. Number 66 of a limited number of 100 prints issued by Jack Silverman of a navajo blanket on heavy Arches paper with a blind stamp of an Indian Chiefs head. Hand signed and numbered this greek key design looks like a second phase Navajo blanket. Created in 1977 this exquisitely designed serigraph is printed employing a multiple layer technique of silk-screening with oil based inks on archival quality, acid free Arches paper. The serigraphs are printed in an edition of 100 and are numbered and signed by Jack Silverman. Up to 100 color screens is hand applied to each individual sheet of Arches paper.

These serigraphs are essentially archival studies of his collection of textiles. Silverman documented and disseminated the beauty of his collection through serigraphs, posters and art cards employing a multiple layer technique of silkscreening to achieve the illusion of woven texture.

This piece came from the warehouse estate of art collector in Los Angeles, had never been taken out of plastic film until we photographed it, as new on heavy Arches paper.
