Also known as a not cont this antique brass trade coin was struck for traders and merchants to use in the Temperance establishments in the USA. These trade or merchant tokens were struck to encourage solidarity regarding temperance and abstinence when away from home and as a result of the panic of 1837 but they had been struck from 1833 until 1843.
