Antique 1910s Hand Written Letter by Joseph Pennell
Antique 1910's framed handwritten letter, envelope and postcard by American artist and author Joseph Pennell (1857-1926). This piece of correspondence dates to November 6th 1914 when he was living in London and the First world war had been raging only for a few months. The letter is thanking a patron of his for sending funds to him in London.
It reads:

Dear Parser,
I am much obliged for your cheque- for lay membership in the Senefelder club, and I hope you are up and about again. Things are ghastly here
