DESCRIPTION

Antique religious masonic medal and pin. This medal is comprised of a pin bar in the shape of a scimitar with the word Islam on it. From this suspends a crescent moon with the date of the session June 1902 along with the location San Francisco. From this suspends a member riding the California state bear.

When the San Francisco Islam Temple won a competition to hold the 1902 Imperial Council Session of the Mystic Shrine, W K Vanderslice who was a member designed the Official Badge for the Shriner’s Convention.
