Antique cast iron stamped sewing accessory spool holder or string dispenser. Originally I believe this was a sewing accessory to hold large spools of thread whilst making bobbins alternatively it could have been used as a counter top dispenser from a general store as used to wrap goods in paper and twine during the late Victorian early 20th century. The makers name or town of origin of Willimantic is cast into the base. This has not only a great aesthetic quality about it but it also a functional antique that could be incorporated into a modern store or office.

Item measures 5.5 inches base diameter by 14.5 inches tall by 7 inch deep and weighs 2lb 11oz.

CONDITION
