Victorian Oak Butlers Call Box / Servants Bell
DESCRIPTION
Architectural salvage servant bell from an old western grand house. Known as a butlers call box this Victorian indicator box was located in the butlers pantry or kitchen of a wealthy house in Cincinnati, Ohio. This large property had 18 rooms with service provided by servants and was likely a lot larger to accommodate the staff quarters. The glass frame has a reset ferrule which would be turned to clear the frame after the bell rang and the name of the room needing service dropped down. It was salvaged from the property of a family called Van Rensseller according to a note that was with it by the previous owner.
This servant bell is great addition to your guest house, hotel or western display collection.
