Vintage spelter statue of a horse and rider " Le Grand Jockey". The mounted figure on the race horse is a jockey as can be ascertained by the stripes on his top and his peaked cap. This vintage spelter equestrian sculpture is cast as a single piece with its plinth which is decorated on the sides with scallop shells. This piece is modeled after the famous equestrian bronze " Le Grand Jockey" by Isidore-jules Bonheur. It is not signed or dated but was in the possession of the previous owner since the late 1960's.

A great addition to your decorative arts collection, equestrian collection or vintage home decor. This would make a great birthday gift.

Vintage horse sculpture measures 19" long by 5.75" wide by 16" tall and weighs 20lb 9oz.

CONDITION
