Vintage WW2 Seth Thomas Mark I Boat Clock Bakelite 1942 US Navy WWII No 9980

  • $ 34000

DESCRIPTION

Authentic working World War II vintage ship’s landing craft clock made for the U.S. Maritime Commission by the Seth Thomas clock company. The black dial is marked “MARK I BOAT CLOCK U.S. NAVY N 9980, 1942” in the center, “Made By Seth Thomas In U.S.A.” below the 6.

This clock has a classic flared ship’s clock bezel which hinges open on the left secured with a thumb screw closing on the original metal mounting bracket. Currently working well, it is missing its back mounting bracket and the key is missing it can be wound up using a number 6 key which was used to test it.

This would make a great birthday gift, man cave gift or housewarming gift.

MEASUREMENTS

Clock case measures 5.25" diameter by 2.75" deep and weighs 2lb 4oz.

CONDITION

This clock is in good condition considering age and use but missing its bakelite back mounting. It does keep time well and runs strong when wound and can be hung as is via the metal hook on the back. I would recommend having the movement cleaned to ensure proper time is kept. No key is included but it winds with a number 6 (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
