Kachina Doll Chop Sowi-ing Wood Sculpture
DESCRIPTION
Vintage heavy dense wood carving kachina doll. This kachina doll holds two rain sticks which are detachable. This wood sculpture is called the antelope Deer (Chop Sowi-ing kachina dolls) The Antelope/ Deer Kachina appears in the Plaza Dances either as a group in the Line Dance or as an individual in the Mixed Dance. He, as well as all other herivorous animals, makes the rains come and the grass grow.
MEASUREMENTS
Wood carving measures 14" tall by 5.5“ long by 4.5“ wide and weighs 3lb 6oz
CONDITION
This kachina doll wood sculpture is in good condition with some chipping to the front corners (this could easily be treated by staining the wood). The left side horn looks like it has been repaired and glued in place (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description)
